Make sure you use the user name root and not the console user name issued to you, the default port for newly setup server is 22. Â You only use console user name for accessing server via console (out of band) using the host server's IP and ssh port which is 2288, this is useful if you locked out your server using your newly configured firewall or you can use the VPS Manager's console facility.
