Today Softlayer Seattle had a massive power outage at the facility which caused several of our servers went down and affected clients hosted at these servers, the outage lasted about 10-15 minutes at most however one of our node (Explorer) was down for an extended period of time as it suffer RAID corruption and all efforts were made in order to recover your data and ensure all VPS goes back online as usual and we are glad to announce that we have succeeded in restoring all VPS online in Explorer node.
EXPLORER NODE RETIREMENT
This is the second or third time this node does not go back automatically after power failure or reboot hence causing client disappointment, we think retiring this server is the best thing to do to ensure all Virtual Server hosted won’t suffer that much as this machine is nearing its end of life. We are going to prepare new node and announce migration of VPS to new machine as much as possible however if you want to be migrated to our existing production servers in Seattle or other locations such as Los Angeles and Phoenix please feel free to open ticket and we will schedule your data migration, please note that a new IP will be issued to you.

We encourage everyone to keep updated  backup of your data offsite to ensure you won’t lose any data, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this outage caused to you.
